Blanc Burgers & Bottles

We had purchased a groupon, (one of the smartest things ever on the web, www.groupon.com) and finally made it over to eat there a few days back. I had the "Inside-Out Burger" which is a marvelous burger stuffed with blue cheese with a side of sweet potato fries. I love sweet potato fries. They actually bring the fries in a miniature shopping cart that sits on your table. Of course, my wife thought this was extremely cute, because she is all about the presentation. I don't really care how it comes to the table, just as long as it does and it is good. Did I mention that I love sweet potato fries? Anyway, my wife had "Grilled Mahi-Mahi Burger". She thought the burger was OK, but I am of the opinion that a burger place is a place to eat a real burger, not a fish sandwich. With that being said, I loved my burger.
Now the bad. The waiter that we had was a total jerk. So much so that I considered walking out of the restaurant because of how rude his response was to my wife when she asked about a simple substitution. I was so frustrated that I even sent an e-mail to an address listed on their website but got no response. I will be there again because I loved the food (did I mention the sweet potato fries?), but I will talk to management not only about the rude server, but the fact that no one responded to my e-mail.
Good news Omaha friends, Blanc Burger is coming to Mid-Town Crossing!!

Getting Acquainted

I will be writing this blog as if someone will actually read it. Obviously, you never know if you will attract any attention. My wife and I just relocated to the Kansas City, MO area from Omaha, NE. Omaha has some fabulous restaurants, but Kansas City has many that have won awards and exposure because of their great cuisine. We have made a hobby out of exploring and discovering new eateries. So, it became obvious to me that it could be quite fun to offer our input and relate our food experiences from the perspective of being a transplant to the area with no preconceived ideas about the restaurants in this beautiful city. So, as I write I would appreciate input and feedback. Thanks for reading!
